What exactly is ArtPrize, you ask? Where and how do I vote? I hear there a bunch of events sponsored by ArtPrize and artists around town – how do I find all those? We figured you’d ask questions like these, so we put together some helpful information and links to keep you in the know.
WHAT IS ARTPRIZE?
From the ArtPrize website:
ArtPrize is a radically open competition. Open to any artist in the world who can find space. Open to anybody in the city who wants to create a venue. Open to a vote from anyone who attends.
During ArtPrize 2009, over 1260 artists have secured space to display their entries at more than 150 venues. The idea is to turn the entire downtown Grand Rapids area into an art gallery.
ANYONE CAN VOTE?
Yes, anyone who registers in person can vote! This means of course that you must actually come to Grand Rapids. But once you’re here, all you have to do is stop by any of the 14 registration locations and sign up to vote. Here’s where you can get more details:
